Jessica’s practice focuses on employment advice, employment and commercial litigation and labor law. In the employment arena, she provides strategic advice regarding the establishment of employment policies and procedures and counsels clients on the creation, maintenance and termination of employment relationships, investigations and managing all aspects of the employment relationship. When the employment relationship must end, she assists clients in understanding their obligations with respect to issues such as severance, state and federal employment statutes, and non-competition agreements. If matters cannot be resolved, she is highly experienced in representing clients in federal or state courts across the country on employment and complex civil and commercial disputes. In the labor arena, Jessica has represented companies with the NLRB, labor disputes, arbitrations and contract negotiations.
Jessica is a Minnesota State Bar Association Board Certified Labor and Employment Law Specialist. She also is a certified mediator and arbitrator for resolutions outside the court system. Jessica speaks extensively on employment law and litigation topics and leads multiple seminars each year.
Shannon Cooper is an attorney with Roe Law Group. She advises employers on labor and employment matters and assists in all aspects of litigation.
Previously, Shannon was an attorney in general civil litigation and served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Thomas D. Hayes, Tenth Judicial District.
Shannon is actively involved in pro bono work and community service, founding and currently serving on the Board of Directors of a national nonprofit organization dedicated to ending violence against women. For that work, she was a 2010 Variety Magazine Power of Women Honoree, a Points of Light Foundation Daily Point of Light in 2012, and a 2009 L’Oreal Women of Worth National Honoree. Shannon also serves on the Minneapolis Downtown YMCA Community Board. She was honored to be the 2010 recipient of the Tenth Judicial District Pro Bono Award.
Nicholas Beckman is an attorney at Roe Law Group. He assists organizations in all stages of litigation and counsels clients on drafting and implementing internal policies. He uses practical, creative experience to help clients navigate any dispute or problem they may face.
Nick received his law degree, magna cum laude, from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. While in law school, Nick received a CALI Award honoring the highest-scoring student in their respective class, participated extensively with the Minnesota Justice Foundation, and served as an Associate Editor for the Journal of Public Policy and Practice. Nick earned his Bachelor of Arts in History from Hamline University in St. Paul, MN, where he also played varsity baseball.
Heather Bredeson is an attorney with Roe Law Group specializing in employment advice, litigation and labor law. Heather continues her law practice by focusing on helping employers prevent legal disputes before they arise and supporting employers with labor disputes. Heather served as a Judicial Law Clerk for the Honorable Lawrence R. Johnson in the Tenth Judicial District.
Heather earned her law degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School with a concentration in labor and employment law. While in law school, Heather was also a Moot Court Student Director. Heather received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the College of Saint Benedict in St. Joseph, MN, where she played four years of varsity basketball.
